Re: 1929 "National Currency" $10.00 bill

I looked this up in the 20th edition of the Standard Catalog of U.S. Paper Money (Krause Publications, 2001). National Currency values are determined by both state rarity (New York is rarity 1 - common) and bank rarity. Your notes are from The Central Valley National Bank and has a small size bank rarity of 4 (very scarce). The value is about $35 over face value. Someone from Central Valley, NY may pay more for these than the book price. The bank charter number is 9990, so it was chartered in 1911. I hope this helps.

Ken, congrats on the nice looking notes! When you say that your wife "got" these notes, what does that mean? Did she get them in change, or buy them for you? Thanks, Gpurs....

Thanks for the info. My wife works at a Dunkin Donuts and a girl used them to pay for coffee. Now she has the 5, 10, and the 20

Holy crap!! That is fantastic! Hopefully the girl will bring in a $50 and $100 in the next few days . I'd be very tempted to probe this girl(so to speak), and find out just how many more of these bills she has, and if there are any coins :icon_pirat: :icon_pirat:.. Congratulations and HH, Gpurs...
