SUN INN (Bethlehem, Northampton County) The Sun Inn opened in 1760, and it's guest list is second to none - the Washingtons, Von Stueben, Pulaski, Lafayette, the Adams, the Six Nation chiefs, and it goes on and on. But the ghost belongs to a Moravian watchman in the basement. The area is honeycombed with tunnels, supposedly to give the early settlers a place to ride out the Indian raids. One of the entrances is allegedly in the Sun's basement. According to the legend, the mysterious Brother Albrecht hid some Moravian treasure in one of the tunnels, and it's still there. If you go into the cellar, you experience cold spots and the presence of the watchman, still on duty as the centuries pass. He doesn't have many intruders to guard against anymore; the Inn was shuttered last time we looked. There was a book, now out of print, that was written about it in 1910 - Brother Albrecht's Secret Chamber: A Legend of the Ancient Moravian Sun Inn.

the Sun inn recently had some construction work done around it.....though no one could get permission...that I know of to detect it..its a political spot with as Jeff mentioned has had many a famous person visit....its really buried into downtown Bethlehem which is off limits to detecting .....most of the city is a concrete jungle because remember "we paved paradise to put up a parking lot" .... there is hardly any grass around the Sun Inn...its a place to tourist but there is no chance for detecting....if you are at the Suninn and head due west about 400 or so yards you will come to the Monacacy Creek .....you can detect along the creek and the Bethlehem police will not bother you...from the creek you will see some very old buildings.....that area is off-limits..... there are some targets down along the creek and you might stumble onto a George Washington Inaugural Button.....if anyone needs help with the area...where to go ....let me know....we have a crew that does the whole Lehigh Valley... and we have all found some sick stuff.....aloha, johny mc.
