Found a good site with a lot of pictures of the old furnaces in Pennsylvania and Eastern U.S. with great descriptions. The pics were taken in the 1930's by a fellow named Albert Keller and eventually donated to the Hagley Library. Now online.
Some excellent research for dating sites and the pictures are great with the descriptions detailing restoration projects, uses, etc.
