Deer Lake Inn to be sold

DEER LAKE - Country Crafts is closing June 30 and its historic Deer Lake Inn location will be sold at auction July 11.

Seeking to plan for their retirement, owners Pam and Warren Scheib said they are relocating the business to the Red Mills Commons Shopping Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

The Deer Lake Inn, which dates back to the 1780s, will be sold at auction at 6 p.m. July 11. The auctioneer is Nelson Ebersole, who was auctioneer when the couple bought the building in 2006. Purchase price of the property was $210,000, Scheib said, with about $75,000 in work invested.
