the 1875 Home of W.Beck

The Red X here is the Field

that is a bit South & too close to the home for it to be part of the Powder mills
if you ask me. He would have had his windows blown out every time someone lit a smoke at the Mill. which they apparently Smoked like Chimneys to calm their Nerves after Mixing up a bunch of Powder

My guess that Field would hold something Interesting though.

1938.

Something was in it

The house on the Gordon Nagle Trail with the fire truck parked outside was the site of the "Farmers Hotel" way back in the late 1800s, Should be on the map of the old Schuylkill County Atlas. The field alongside the house (that's a very big field) should produce some interesting finds as I believe that was part of the "Farmers Hotel" property. NOT the "Cressona Powder Mill" property. I have NEVER detected that field. Years ago when the house was empty I was interested in gaining permission but never pursued it because nobody was living there. Somebody is living there now, and would require permission but I wouldn't bet on getting it.

I believe the Cressona Powder Mills location was situated somewhere along the railroad tracks (next to the entrance to the mall parking lot. Many years ago I walked the railroad tracks for quite a distance heading towards Sheetz in Minersville. That is a very long stretch of real estate with a lot of open areas, and I think the Cressona Powder Mills was located somewhere there.........................Rich

Yea ? Ryon Real estate said yes to me so Fast it almost made my Head Spin :o
I walked into their Office by the Bus station a few years ago.
It took me longer to Get the words out then it took for them to say Yes.
no Questions were asked, They didn't even want to Hear a Thank You,
he Just said yep & then proceeded to ignore me. same with the woman standing at the counter.

Of course that was a former Fairgrounds Property.
Not so close to their Ranch Home. but if that's the same Ryon, Stop over at the Office
