State police to enforce ?No Trespassing? at Centralia - News - Republican Herald

I'm not sure if this means the Whole town is now off limits

or Just Graffiti Highway .

This suggests any part tagged with a NO TRESPASSING sign

The State Police used to Jokingly tell us we had to split any Gold we found
with them .

My suggestion if you see No Trespassing Signs; Do Not Trespass.
IF you see Mowed Grass Do Not Trespass to Metal detect
If you see people outside their home Do Not Trespass, to ask them questions.

If you see a state Policeman sitting, standing, or walking.
By all means , ask him if you can still Metal detect around the abandoned parts of Town. and Post his response here.

I am not sure When I may get up that way to Look for a cop.

and even if he gives me Permission
that does not mean rules won't change for the Next one or the Next Day.
but a collection of responses here would at least give us an idea.

i heard from people its just Graffiti Highway....since majority of the out of county folks come to mainly visit there.......it actually is really unsafe, i understand they are just avoiding possible lawsuits when something does happen....kinda like Peace Rock

Local to this area. The graffiti highway is the area that has recently been heavily patrolled and you are no longer "allowed" to visit. However, metal detecting in this area (in my opinion) would be unwise. The majority of the houses in the town that remain, and those recently removed have 4+ chimneys stemming from the basement to allow poisonous gases that seem in from underground to escape. I would rather not play around with that.

Graffiti Highway in Centralia Completely Covered in Dirt
[/h]
After many weeks since the work began, Graffiti Highway in Centralia is now completely covered with dirt.

On April 6th, 2020, work began to cover up graffiti highway the spray painted highway began to draw large crowds during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This forced Pagnotti Enterprises, the owner of the land, to close "Graffiti Highway" Monday morning.

At dawn on April 6th, 2020

, crews from Fox Mining arrived at the north end to create an entrance to allow trucks to haul in dirt to cover the road.

The Pennsylvania State Police were also called in to assist keeping people away from the work being done on the property.

For several weeks it appeared as if the worked stopped but a drone flight over the highway on Thursday, May 21st, 2020 shows the road is now completely covered.

No word on if the dirt will be flattened or if the dirt will stay as is.
