I thought centralia was off limits because of the mine fires, don:t want to go to jail!!! but if its not it may be game on.... been waiting to get together and hunt and see that 57 of yours...its only an hour and a half drive for me

My wife's from Centralia. When we were dating in the late 70's her father dug an old tombstone in their back yard (a good distance from the cemertaries). Can't remember the details of the stone or what ever happened to it. Nothing else was found.
She lived on the main street going toward Mt. Carmel on the north side, about two blocks down from the main cross road.
Just be careful near the exsisting cemetaries. There are a lot of open holes on that side of the hill that are still burning. Also the cemetaries are still being used.

How about meeting in Byrnesville at the cemetary. It's right before you get into Centralia on the left (the large cemetary). Assuming most of us are heading there from the south side.

Carpooling?????

Brian

the Cemeteries are in centralia not Byrnesville
if comming From ashland, you now need to make the right into
Byrnesville & follow the road to the Top of Centralia.
because of Road Subsidence, Melting & High thick Smoke Problems.

There is a Monument in Byrnesville but not a cemetery.

When I was last up (Looks like April of '05) I ran into
the Local Township policeman between the Ball Diamond & the Cemetery.
He pointed out the ballfield to me & said there was no Problem with detecting
he was taking License plate Numbers of Unattended Vehicles because the woods
are Private property & They were 4 Wheeling. Not sure if they receive Fines in the mail,
Warnings or ? But you wouldn't want to leave your
Vehicle Completley out of sight up there.
still a good meeting spot.

Sight of Former Church, & Possable Convent ? I Believe.

As far as Legalities ? Technically it was bought out by the fed,
But unless things have changed, the Police don't care. or at least Didn't.

I'm still open for the 22,
But won't say definately till 17 or 19 depending on how soon
I see a Believable Weather Report.
My detector don't like rain.

Weather permitting, I'll be there. So far, looks like i got the longest drive..4+ hours. Do I get a prize?

Talked to my brother in Red Hill and gonna visit him Saturday and swing by to meet yun's on Sunday on my way back to the Burg. I'm not sure where the meet location is either....but ...how can you miss a bunch of folks with detectors?

Hope to see ya'll.
Al

I sure hope it aint this 90+ degrees crap...I'll melt. A pleasant 80 would be great.
