Sorry Resizing twice messed it up.

it says Dando's Pool was named for State Senator J.P. Dando.
This site is now used for Fishing.
But back in the 1920's and 1930's it was the place to be.

I'm usually not one to trash someone else's theories or research, but that shed (toilet?) in the old picture looks like it's at the bottom of a very steep hill. I don't see the hill in the modern pic. Am I missing something?

Re: Then & Now

The area in red is a Hill

The red arrow is pointing at the shed.

The ball Field is semi New (less then 20 years)

Also heard Left half of pool has Cement Bottom
and is shallow.
The Mangled Slide is still there.

Right half of pool was dirt bottom, deep & had diving Board.

Sure wish it was Empty of water.

Re: Then & Now

OK, I stand (or sit) corrected. I guess the ladies were standing on the left edge of your new pic. Is or was the shed a toilet or "two hole" outhouse? Would the other nearby structure be changing rooms for the bathers? Why else would so many cars be parked in the area? Looks like a great place to hunt!

Enjoy,

DCMatt

Re: Then & Now

Yes it's the Ladies outhouse in the new Pic.

and most Likely was then also.

Here is a Tax Office Pic of the Ball Field in 95

Which wasn't a ball field at that time
As you can see some type of what looks like a round building
Building in it.
