So I brought it back to the merchant got a replacement , but brought this new one in the water today and same thing !!!! I made sure both times I sealed the battery cap however both times I noticed air bubbles coming from the button ??! Am I doing something wrong ?

Hot TRX to cold water would likely leak.

I have two and submerge them often without incident. :dontknow:

Plastidip the unit past the button. Dielectric grease on battery contacts. Lube the o-ring with light coat of silicone grease. Would be submergable and functional beyond 10 feet IMO.

I might just dip over the button next time.

Never really thought of my TRX being waterproof , just "Kinda water Resistant"

That said , I in no way have the Confidence to submerge the unit for even a second or 2.

I do have a can of Plasti-Dip, but also have a NIB Carrot .

My 2 cent piece.

When the TRX first came out Whites stated it was "Weatherproof" after still getting their butts whipped by the Garrett Pro Pointer AT, they started claiming it was "Waterproof" I have had both and can say without a doubt that the Garrett IS waterproof and able to submerged. On the other hand the TRX IS NOT waterproof and I would never submerge it (again)

Get it replaced (again), the keep it in a sealed ziplock bag or vacuum seal it when you plan to dunk it.

FYI... air bubbles a coming from the unit is NEVER a good sign.

I've dunked mine, and it's been fine. I just got mine in January, maybe there was a design alteration?
