QUESTION ON BUYING SILVER AND GOLD BARS IN....

.......deployed location. I have had the opportunity to go down to the local Gold Souqs at my deployed site. I have asked to purchase silver bars or coins but no one really has them. One of the Indian guys told me he could get some silver bars for me if I was interested but would have to pay a fee. Can someone please tell me what I should be paying for Silver Bars .999? They only come in 100 OZ increments.

He also wanted to melt down some silver left over jewelry he didnt want anymore. Only problem is it is .925 jewelry and he was going to make me a bar of about 13 oz for $184.00 Does this sound good? Thanks.

Sounds like he's trying to rip you a new one to me. Stay away from those 100 oz bars they may be filled. Only buy those from reputable companies. Personally not knowing anyone around there I would be leery of ripoffs unless I was absolute certain in a product like 90% U.S. coins or other countries currencies.

Thanks NYIANGELO...The .999 bars and gold actually will come from Abu Dabi. They will be stamped and come it the origninal packaging. The .925 is kinda scary. He said I could watch him melt it all down. andmake the bar. I though that would be a pretty nice post with pics. The process. Anyway, I just would like to know what a fair price would be for 100 oz .999 bar from a reputable bank. Thanks again.
