So guy sells me a few gold coins. double eagles. gold eagles. silver eagles so on and in the mix was a 1 oz engelhard prospector coin. 1980 but cant seem to find one for sale anywhere. even ebay is empty. which is strange. So my question. and maybe goldsworthy knows. what kind of premium do these carry? normal or slightly higher than gold eagles?

and it is still sealed in the plastic sleeve with assay card

I have seen the gold Prospector rounds only rarely. What I have seen for sale had lower premiums from the coin dealers. The few I have seen did not have the assay card with them, but were loose. The coin dealer was selling them at about the same rate as a typical one ounce gold bar without the assay card. I only buy gov issued gold coins, or I would have picked one up.

Unless you find a collector who specifically wants one, when you sell you will not get a premium like you would for a gold Eagle. Ebay might do well for you here.

I think they are cool looking coins though.
