    Silver Question

Im not sure If this is posted in the right place, so administrators, feel free to move it to the proper section.

I have a belt buckle that I got at a garage sale a few years ago, that I believe is silver, But im not sure. When I got, I took it home and dunked it that "Silver Jewelry Cleaning" solution and It came out nice and shiny, but Its not marked anywhere. I believe it was hand made, so Im not sure what the silver content is. IM trying to figure out what the silver content is, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Alex.

I'll post pictures later, Im working right now.

    Re: Silver Question

Could be silverplated. If it is not marked sterling or with some other hallmark, I think the chance of it being more than silverplated is slim.

I don't know how to test it like you do with gold acids, etc.

You can try a local coin shop just to see if they can tell if it is silver or silverplated.
