    Someone educate me on selling scap gold.

    OK, I believe I will sell of a few rings and things. From what I hear on the forum ARA is a good place. http://www.aragold.com/refining-schedule.html

    They advertise paying 98%. Is this 98% spot?

    I have the following to sell.

    10K = 6.82 grams
    14k = 17.10 grams

    How do I calculate what I would expect to get back? Today's per gram price is $45.47 Would I expect to get 98 % of $1087.64? (23.92 grams X $45.47?)

    I think there is something I am missing here.

    That gold refinery is the best. I've used them exclusively and wouldn't go to anyone else. They are the nicest folks too. I don't know if you know this but you can bank your scrap gold there until you want to scrap it if you want to wait for the price to go up. They hang onto it until you call them and tell them to melt it and they give you the value of the day. It's a great idea but you risk the price going down.

    Anyway, here's a calculator for your gold values.

    Hi Brian;
    I've used midwest refineries and been pleased with them. I've never figured out how to do the calculations though. Sounds like you have alot of scrap!! awesome!
