    Got some war nickels

I was at a coin store today and saw a complete set of Unc war nickels. I only had one or two really ugly ones in my collection, so I bought the set and got what I think is a good deal $50 (11 coins).
They really are kind of cool to see in such great shape.

Also bought a handful of engelhard one ouncers for 1.25 over spot.

No more buying now unless it drops into the 32 range or below.

OK now that is funny. As I was typing that I was not sure even I believed it. But I will at least try to stick to it. Gotta have some cash left over if it does drop a bunch.

wow I cant believe you paid like 4x melt on a set of war nickels...since theres no rare dates...Funny becuase last week I was at my local coin show and I bought 35 war nickles at $1.35 each...and coinflation was at $1.90 each..So those coin shows pay off more than Coin Stores...

Perhaps you missed the "Uncirculated" part of his post.

I only bought them due to their great condition and for my collection, not as an investment per se. I would personally never by war nickels as a silver play unless I could buy them for 40% or less of the silver melt value.

Since yesterday I checked online and some BU sets of war nickels have sold for over 200 bucks on ebay.
