    Very rare occurrence, hence a better time to buy platinum instead of gold. If a person's investment horizon is greater than a few months or so, I believe they will see platinum's premium to gold grow much higher. When gold is equal to or higher than platinum historically, that is the time to buy platinum instead of the other way around.
