Ordered five sets but they probably didn't make the cut. Went through around 5:15pm. I started trying to order at 1pm and kept getting kicked off the mint's servers or hung up at checkout. Can't win them all.

I didn't know they came out today, so I just placed an order, I probably won't get it but hopefully some people will cancel and I can get it.

I got one set ordered pretty early. I only had minimal trouble on the web site. I wish I had ordered more; after-market on eBay is already over $600. It's the tickle-me-Elmo of US Mint products.

Re: Anyone able to get the 25th Anniversary Silver Eagles?
I didn't order them and really don't care much about the coins (not much of a mintmark fan, die varieties and mint varieties like on ancient coins yes, but a simple letter? No.) but if I knew the huge after-market sales I would have picked up one and resold it to a dealer for a profit.

The Mint might cancel some orders if they find the same shipping address for multiple orders. Just wait the few days for them to process the orders and correct and weed out the greed.

Re: Anyone able to get the 25th Anniversary Silver Eagles?
why in the world would you pay almost double for silver ? $60 for a silver eagle...sure you might say that its a collectable and maybe its going to appreciate more value..but thats only becuase only recently have people have made numismatics more than what its really worth...silver is silver..theres no reason why you need to pay double for it

There is an article on the front page of this weeks edition of Coinworld about how many dealers bought up the sets and are trying to sell them for as much as $2500.

Just wait, if you didn't get your opportunity to purchase them. There is a flood of them being sent in for grading, and unfortunately, there will be a flood of them hitting the market when they return. Prices will still be above what the mint was charging, but prices will come down after the holidays/new year. If anyone is in the Florida area, be sure to attend this year's FUN in Orlando (Jan 5-8). There will be plenty of dealers willing to deal as there will be plenty of sets on the bourse floor. Last couple of years, there were over 600 dealers.

Re: Anyone able to get the 25th Anniversary Silver Eagles?
My 5 sets are still on backorder. If they are ever sent, I'll probably just be getting other people's returned scratched/damaged coins. I thought about cancelling my order to save myself the hassle of returning them myself but even if they are scratched and/or spotted I should still be able to sell them for a slight profit unless they are severely damaged. Plus I still might get one or more decent sets or maybe I can put together a couple of problem-free sets myself from all 5 of the sets.
Update: I just checked and my order has been cancelled again. I really wasn't too excited about getting other people's rejects anyway. And at least I don't have to worry about paying the $1500 charge to my CC now. I've already decided the day I tried placing my order for these coins that I will never order anything from the mint or purchase any modern numismatic coins ever again. CRHing silver @ face is much more worthwhile to me.
