My mining is on hold for a month or two

My grandmother has been given an X amount of time to live
We need to spend some time with her

Heavy pans everyone

Sorry to hear of your grandmothers illness. It's good
to know you'll have time to spend with her.

Prayers in the wind for you and your family.

got bored and threw together this highbanker plan im considering
highbanker plans.png
if your wondering about the header box i would design it with a boiler box like the gold hog highbanker(and possibly use the matting)
I would use wood for this(seems to be the staple of homemade equipment for me)I would use 1/2 inch wood for the sluice walls so each sluice tray
would be an inch wider than the last(would help recovery) and I could just use bolts to hold them together
the advantage(I think) of a thinner sluice bed is you can get away with a smaller pump(I could probably get away with a puny bilge pump)
and because of the length I could still probably shovel right into it

what do you guys think
heavy pans everyone

So i was at gold n gems the other day (didnt get video)
But i didnt do too well maybe 40 flakes but heres some gold i got out of 2 buckets of classified material on a new creek
image.jpg
I think im in a layer of decomposed saphrolite bedrock
Im getting a grayish-silt with tons of mica
Anyways looks excellent!!!

Another problem this creek is like 2 feet wide so i need
A smaller sluice box than my 36 inch jobe(my fluid trap didnt turn out too well)
Heavy pans everyone

Kidddo!!!

You are doing way better than you are giving yourself credit for! That is some nice gold, and for just 2 buckets!

Well i did have to poke through some gravel overburden to get to
The decomposing bedrock but still excellent

Plus i do think i hit a pocket in those buckets

Nice job man! Nice seeing some Georgia gold on here. Just wish I could find it... That looks like gold from one of the allatoona feeder creeks.

nope ironically I found this creek behind my neighbors house across the street

the thing I noticed that makes this creek different than any other creeks I've worked is this one has lots of gravel in the banks so that's what im going to look
for in future creeks

its also worthy of mention that it just rained like 3 in today so im sure some new gold has been deposited from the banks :)

Get out there and start digging! Or maybe tomorrow as it is 9:00 over there. Great spot it looks really good. Keep at it, it will only add up.

Wish my parents had the gold fever. Too bad I'm the only one. Once my brothers move out I will make a plan to get them the fever, maybe a few salted pans. Haha
