Got out for a couple hours on 2 different new creeks yesterday...ran the prospector 36 on the smaller, but swifter creek and managed a couple small flakes and a half a dozen fly poops.

The second creek is much wider and slower, so I had to use the sniper and make a dam. The digging was super shallow like less than a foot deep, but the result was a number of flakes and a bunch more fly poops. Great time, great weather and felt relaxed on the drive home.

Today was one of those days that dreams are made of....woke up to way better weather that expected, filled up the Explorer, and off to the river! We got to the spot o wanted to dig today, and not only had someone's car recently had all the glass smashed out of it, but they seem to have left half a dumpster worth of trash to go with it. I decided to look past that and go down to the river, which is about a 5 minute walk. About 30 seconds into the walk I found some large cat scat...decided I would go to the next spot down the way, turned out to be a good decision. We got down to the next spot, which I sampled once a year and a half ago, and set up the bazooka prospector 36. I spent a couple hours digging close to the sluice, and even got some sun! Did I mention my beautiful wife wanted to come with, and then happily read her book and enjoyed the view from her seat next to the river. Normally the gold here is super flat and small, today was different. The gold was rough around the edges and big enough to roll around in the pan. On the way home we listened to the radio and heard our local soccer team beat their opponent 1-0 in the last minutes of the game. What a day!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend, Cheers! Alright....so we got out...almost:(. It's quite a drive from our place to this spot (2+ hours each way including off road time) when I saw this interesting looking yellow ribbon crossing the road, but laying in the mud and water, so I didn't think much, going pretty slow anyways. A few moments later I see a side that says "road damage ahead." As we come around the last bend before where you can get reasonable access to the river, the road, we see a couple more of the yellow ribbons, but these were in the air- ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1468706367.562908.jpg

Right after the second one is where a nice little creek enters the main river channel, and low and behold it has washed the whole road out-20ish feet down and 50+ feet across- ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1468706451.882854.jpg

So we turned around and did some samples on the bedrock on the way home. No gold today, but some good pictures and sample info. Hope your pans are heavier than mine! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1468706583.043452.jpg

There always next time, right?:)

Yeah. Was pouring up there but I brought back 20 buckets. Time to tip a few and do some classifying. Selling our boat so I can get a trommel for the gold cube.

Got out and sampled a little bit a couple days ago, no gold in the recently washed out creek bed area, must not be where the gold enters this river at. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1470155489.826723.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1470155513.262376.jpg that little waterfall is one of my favs up there.

We made it out! Got to the spot we were going to dig in at just after 7 am, and low and behold, there are 2 cars there:(

We walked down to that spot, and met the two fellas that were down there, they were classifying their hearts out, and having a good time. We chatted for a few minutes, and then hiked back to the car. I had really anticipated dredging here, but I did not want to disturb the peace and quiet that these guys had while they were enjoying their day at the river. So, we went looking for a "new" spot. Lol.

I prospected a spot a few miles down the river last winter, it had great access and a few boulders that may trap some gold, so we headed that way. On the way, almost hit a dear, very glad for her that didn't happen:). We got to the spot, and, surprise surprise, can't dredge there. It now had no trespassing signs (found out when I got home that this trail was actually private, and that the property where the trail was on had recently been sold. Strike two.)

Headed back up toward the headwaters, and found a place where from the edge of the road there was access to a nice stretch of river that we had never been to. It was steep, but not a long ways. Found a large boulder and got busy. Spent five hours on the nozzle cleaned up a lot of rocks, and even saw a little bit of gold. I'll post result pictures tomorrow, too tired to do any planning tonight. [emoji3]

The next few hundred yards are part of a community, with no public access. Then there is a bunch of inaccessible areas, followed by an area we can get at with about a 5 minute hike. I've never got the dredge out there. I did find my first flake ever up there:). That area is notorious for car break ins, which limits my interest. How are things?

First trip out since August, short and sweet. Ran a couple buckets, had a couple beers...even just sat on the riverbank and watched the Bazooka swim. Very nice and relaxing day. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1495368278.934921.jpg
