Right after a clean out on clear creek, before you say it yes, the box isn't set up right in this pic :)

Toothinthecons1.jpg
Fossilized tooth out of the platte river, either a large dog canine or a bear eye tooth I'm guessing.

Cool find. The box set looks good to me. I run mine flat and deep depending on what I am after and how much scraping of cobble off the deck I am willing to do.

its funny the things you run across that make you think of gold mining applications, in this case it leads your mind to dry washing for instance.

Got out on the Platte yesterday to do some digging finally.
Best day ever.
I got one picker that is .07 grams (I think thats a grain). My biggest piece yet.
I got about 25 pieces in my snuffer bottle (had to put the picker in manually. Yay!)
Still havent classified and blue bowled the cons yet.
Pics later :)

Sure do old friend! And I'm still doing my part to keep her clean, like any good prospector does.
Here is another artifact and a shot of the junk (minus the bullets, even though I pulled them out of the river I still feel like they could bang up against something, and wouldn't that be a dumb way to go? LoL)

I'm not sure what this is, maybe bronze? Three stones left!

Wow cool!

Also, finding that much metal says you are digging where the dense stuff settles. Well done :)

OK..

I have a problem.
Not the regular gold whore problem either. We all got that.
Well, maybe that's part of it.

I think I am a concentrates hoarder.
I've still got it all. Every cleanup from every sluice / pan I've ever dug for.
Even the stuff you catch in the 1/4 inch classifier. Rocks / glass etc.
Needless to say my garage has bins buckets, pans, Folgers cans etc. etc. full of it.
No pictures because my garage is trashed.

Here are my options:
1. Throw it all in the yard.
2. Classify it all again and run it through the blue bowl one last time. Pan out the larger stuff.
3. Classify it all again and run it through my Keene A51 frankenstein recirc system.

Then put it out in the yard.
I'm leaning towards the Re circulation, so:

Should I just classify the less than 20's to bluebowl and run the rest through the recirc? Or just run it all?
Either way this stuff has to go lol, WWYD?

Dude, you've got a problem...

So you aren't saving the concentrates, you are saving the tailings from your concentrates..

I don't toss my cons tails either.. I save 'em up, and then re-concentrate them. Occasionally I
do small samples, and its not worth cleaning, I just toss it in the tub, and I'll get it back later. If
your concentration device caught it once, it will catch it again, and then you have a lot less stuff to
deal with.

Hey Prospector, I'm betting that with your experience, there is only -100 or even -200 gold left in you processed cons, and not that much. You most likely got most of the +100 gold when you first processed your cleanup cons. Run it all through a -70 (maybe even -100) classifier, run some percentage of it and determine if its worth running the rest. Last June I ran 6 gallons of cleanup cons and only got .08 grams - decided not to run the rest and spread the rest in our flower gardens.

That is actually a really good idea, thanks! I think I have a -50 and a -100 for smalls. that -100 screen is like trying to sift stuff through a plastic bag though... haha

Hmmmm.....

Air compressor to supply the bed. Add propane and ignition. Add damp sand. Bed heats up and dries sand. Gold falls to bottom. All season drywasher!
