The boom isn't on a ram. Its on a piece of 2 1/4" solid 4140. Boom height will be controlled from the back of the boom but an ATV winch and another will be on the boom for lifting.
Thanks for the correction. In the first pictures one can see the solid 2 1/4 inch metal better. Just trying to follow along.

Since everyone likes carnage, here's the results of my last trip out exploring and recovering a few things. Tore 3 and 4 gear out of the transmission along with a broken flexplate. Good thing I can rebuild automatics.

Here's one of the things I went after but the damned tweakers here beat me to them. They had to be desperate to pack out several tons on their backs.

Yea it been hot here too. Well into the triple digits

Been focusing on the business side of thing lately. I am trying to get access to a few claims that will set us up for quite some time. That is chewing up a lot of my free time lately.

Blasting videos will come soon enough. Still have to get a Type II magazine to store the explosives and they aint cheap. Lots of little intricacies to navigating the ATF Explosives laws.

Right now if I get access to the other claims I am working on, I should be in full production mode within 6 to 9 months.

Thank you for checking in brother. Hopefully my videos, when they come, are good enough to be on here.

Forgot to add, I will have one of these on the way soon enough.

If you're working in an adit I do hope you have a good
source of fresh air being blown in. That critter will put out
nasty exhaust plus eat up all your good air.

It wont be used in an adit. I have a severe aversion to an infernal combustion engine being used underground.

Mostly going to be used for heavy sampling of some massive quartz outcrops I am working on getting access to.

And it has uses around the house here as half of my place is built on caliche.

If you have a chance to try one of those gas dudes before you buy.
You should, you might be happier waiting till you get full on air.

I know I'll be happier with full on air. But I kinda have a bet with the wife that I can build a mine from the ground up with only a few thousand dollars seed money. After that it pays for itself.

Figure $30k to go full air by the time I would get a decent 375CFM compressor, a jackleg, and the hoses to run it. a jackleg will chew through 175-200CFM depending on the make and model.

Gotta find some gold to go that route or hit the Powerball.

We got rained out here. Monsoons have kicked off in a big way. Supposed to rain for three days here. On tap for next Saturday.

While not good without some rain, it seems to be moving up the eastern side of the Sierras. Muggy here near Reno, and in the 100's. If we get no rain, I might be night mining next trip to the claim.

I can deal with the heat pretty well but the humidity just sucks the life right out of me.
