Attachment 1223459 as you can see, it's a little tiny creek
This looks more my key. Small but productive. Is it on private land with permission or public? I like the dam, i havent been out in ages. hope to get out one more time before it gets too cold.

The land is owned by a parks & rec district which allows this activity. I even took one of their board members out prospecting a few years ago. Dave, we went to the site where you and I tested the AMP sluice. She is a retired geologist and just loved the experience. Of course I sent her home with the gold as a souvenir

PS yes, Ducky, this creek is very much your style! Lots of interesting spots along it that I want to sample...

Got out to that same spot this morning. Sure is nice to be able to reuse a dam On the way in I talked with another prospector who also lives close by.Click image for larger version.

Great gold (0.40grams) and 4 pieces of birdshot. Oh, and the water is getting colder. About time for fleece and chest waders...and crabbing gloves. Winter don't stop me none!

ID:	1231405the -50 and the +50 first pass at panning each so I'm sure there's a bit more hiding :-)

Most of the clay bottom in my honey hole is only down about a foot or so under the gravel. This digging revealed a big pothole in the clay and I was down about 3 feet. Result seems to be more +50 flakes than usual...nice!

Is this in that small creek you posted about a couple of weeks ago in the thread or the river?

Just extending the same hole in the little creek...that pothole in the clay is about as deep as the creek is wide!

Kev has to haul material uphill in the creek to get to his downstream sluice

That's actually true! I'm definitely digging below the sluice but it's only a shovel's length away from the hole

Here's the gold from Tuesday, 0.42 grams all cleaned up and ready for the party

Beautiful gold! And some nice, larger pieces. I think the large piece I got the last time I was out with you came from the top of the clay layer. You just might find some more 3 mm pieces there!

How is the water level doing? You still using the Sniper or did you have to go to a Mini/Super Mini?

3mm pieces show up about once every year or so at best so I'm not holding my breath. The water is up(!) so I was able to use the Prospector...what a joy that tool is!

That's nice. More water, larger trap, more throughput and therefore more gold!
