Hey everyone, just thought I'd share some photos of the aluminum BGT sniper I've been working on this week. I'm constructing it out of scrounged up scrap aluminum at zero cost. I'd love to buy a sheet and have everything bent, but well, free is free! Plus I get to practice my welding skills and burn myself more :icon_thumleft:

Lots more welding. All those inside corners sure are a pain. Only blew a hole through once, so I'm happy with that!

Smoothed the deck welds some , added the backplate to the trap and cut the tubes to length.

This is where I'm at so far. Still need to slap the top plate of the trap on, probably lexan, and figure out the grizzly.

More to come

Looking nice, my friend. Hard to beat free material. Doesn't hurt as much when blowing holes through it as it does when ya buy it. It's always more satisfying when you build something yourself. Looking forward to hearing the report when you put her to work!

It was only a small hole, lol. Of course in the the bottom of the trap, haha. A little touch up with the tig torch, a bit of grinding and it was good as new. :icon_thumleft:

Thanks!

I didn't measure the thickness, but the top and bottom are about 3/32" and the sides about 3/16".

Mostly got lil' zabooka done today. Just have to finish up the tubes now.

Made the grizzly out of 3/32" 316 SS TIG rod. Quite tedious and I darn near messed it up a couple times, lol.

Ended up with this. I decided to fasten the grizzly instead of drilling a bunch of holes through the deck

Welded on the top plate and secured the grizzly. I bent the grizzly ends so they would lay flat with the deck

Roughed up the deck while I was at it.

Just have to drill and install the fluid tubes and she's ready to go!...if the creek ever thaws out haha
