Yep, kept me up nights til I was done.

Nice work, and the best book I've read explaining the naval dynamic in the Caribbean.

S.C. Shooter:

Two good Henry Morgan books are Dudley Pope's Harry Morgan's Way and Peter Earle's The Sack of Panama.

The Buccaneers of America was written by Exquemelin - who served with Morgan and lived to produce a book about his adventures. The Dover paperback edition is the one to read because it reprints the Alexis Brown translation. Most other editions were first translated into Spanish and then into English. That process, as one might expect, significantly changed the original text.

Some years ago I learned that after you read a history book it's an excellent idea to right away read another on the same topic. Many times what an author leaves out, or doesn't know, comes to light after reading that second volume.

Good luck to all,

I have also read and enjoyed Terry Breverton's "Admiral Sir Henry Morgan: King of the Buccaneers".
