Try the library. Find out what's available. Check a bookstore. They have updated lists of what's been published and what the book contains. But gon't overlook some of the old out of print books. Old doesn't mean useless. Well, maybe me, but not books...

If you are looking for a "coffee table" (picture) book on lost treasures, you might want to check out:

Treasure Seekers, by Dr. Jane McIntosh
Lost Treasures of the World, by Michael Groushko (several editions)
or
Lost Treasures by Time Life

There are others, of course. It's a popular topic. National Geographic did a nice one Undersea Treasures. And Sir Robert Marx has written a couple.

I don't think any of these will actually help you find anything - but they can be quite entertaining!
