Garrett Has A New Relic Metal Detector To Be Released In September

    http://www.garrett.com/ace350/

It will be available September 15/2010. Retail price is $349.00. Looks like Garrett is continuing with a low price for this relic machine.

Looks like another good one. I am glad it doesn't have that "fishbone" coil and don't know why that turns me off. I am also not to hot about the color yellow on the detector but paint is cheap. I must just be extra picky today and need my coffee.

Hopefully Garrett will introduce a new VLF water detector as I always liked my AT-4.

I've never owned or used an ACE, but I've heard that with the previous models, although many people love them, their use in the Western States has had problems with heavy ground mineralization. But the promo on this 350 indicates that this has been overcome, and that it also works on the salt beaches. And with it's DD coil it sounds like it could compete with the high-end Fisher. That would be a real boon to metal detecting, with it's low price tag and Garrett quality, which I guess has been good.
