    CW "I" button and bullets?

Was hunting an old home site in NC, dug the I button and bullets/musketballs, first CW finds. Not sure what I have here yet, any help would be appreciated. GL and HH

Looks like a Confederate Civil War. http://www.atlantaarsenal.com/page122.html

Very nice finds. That confederate "I" button is sweet. It is in great shape.

Re: CW "I" button and bullets?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your I button is not civil war. The button refered to as from Atlanta arsnal was a one piece cast I. The button pictured is two pieces. the backmark is not correct for a period button. A perion button would have an English backmark or a Richmond or even no backmark, but not a Union backmark. I also believe that backmark is much more modern than the civilwar.
