    Nautical relics; searching mud flats

    I am new to metal detecting and am interested, among other things, in searching between high and low tide lines for nautical relics. In this part of Maine that would mean searching the mud flats and gravel beaches. Anyone tried saltwater mud flats?

    This would pay off if in the right areas ..Old piers ..wharfs etc..I find alot of old boat parts.. anchors.. & such in fresh water Good luck
