Rare CS Button...have you ever seen this button?

Well, I can finally post my find regarding my CS Button as Butch from American Digger had me hold off until it came out in the latest issue. This button is identified as a Confederate General Service button listed in Alberts on page 367 CS 90. This button is 20 mm, high lead content pewter and was cast in a scissor mold with an integral shank. I took it to the Marietta Civil War Show a few weeks ago and showed it to all the button guru's. No one has ever seen one. I did get a name of a gentleman from Alabama who may have owned one. His name is Gerald Gann. All I know about him is he is from Alabama and he is or was a Civil War sword collector.

If anyone has ever seen one of these buttons or knows a Mr. Gerald Gann, please post here AND email me keith@keithinvestigations.com

This button is featured in the latest American Digger in "Just Dug" on page 7. Thanks for looking, Davy Keith.
