Do you have permission from the owner and if so it's yours go dig.
Sounds like you are in a good spot.

If it is state or federal property, then no, but it doesn’t mean you can’t hunt the surrounding areas, you just have to get permission from the land owners. Do your research and find out who owns the surrounding land, and then go ask permission. Don’t be shy… At this moment, you don’t have permission, so you currently have a no as an answer. If you ask, and you get a no, it’s no different as you are. If you get a yes, then you have benefited.
If you gain permission, make sure you stay on the private property that you have the permission of that land owner to hunt. Don’t stray over onto someone else’s property, they may not like it.
Also, it’s turning cool and hunting season is on the horizon. If you metal detect, be sure you are wearing blaze orange and make sure you’re not in someone’s hunting spot. No relic is worth getting shot over.
