Super nice button! Your in the right area for them, I dug a 52 near Charleston earlier this year. I should say I dug about 3/4 of one, like you said most of the time pewter doesn't hold up that well. I did get the important part though the 52 is all there :)

Pretty awesome. I was a partner in buying an older dug collection all found on Lake George, NY, and quite a few buttons were in that type of condition. Needless to say we did extremely well.

Generally you have to get them deep to have a chance to look that good. That or from fresh water.
