I believe late 1800s. The eley bros were in business in the early to late 1800s and into the early 1900s.

If you do a search in the search menu for shotgun shells you will find a post with a link to all the old shells...I had it saved on my bookmarks, but changed computers and browsers or I'd just give it to you.

While trying to identify a Club shot shell I just found on some late 1800 farm land next to me, a guy shared a good article called the History and Art of Shot Shells on shotgunworld.com. Unfortunately, I only found the cap and it was in bad shape. I could still read the name and number.
