I found that a wire brush,or a electric wire brush, what i prefer, works well

that thing cleaned up nice gator,its a old sucker.

Don't worry your the only guy who wanted to help me on this thread so I don't mind gator. Just started the real axe head today will see how I do on that one the wood splitter is done I will post it soon so you can check it out

I'm trying your wood method just took a spoon and broke the handle off put it on a drill working good

It takes a lot of patience to do it the way I do it on very old items I don't use power at all.
If its that broad axe your cleaning you might just as well use that wire brush... Unless you're hoping to see a maker mark

I think it might be a old one there is a lot of rust on it, did you make your electrolysis?

That's from smoking it and I took the picture in unnatural light. I will take another one now I sealed it

My friend thought I used spray paint lol.. He smelled them and was like how did you do that.. I like how they turned out they seem to get lighter after there done for a week
