Real funny how this worked out... I broke my digger so it turned out I was having to cut my hunt short but before leaving I decided to walk the site a little hoping to find maybe a bottle button or some other non-metallic object... As soon as I saw this little green disc I knew it was going to be something pretty cool and figured it would be a wheat penny so I decided to take a photo it wasn't until I moved it and saw what I thought was a wheat stalk was a wreath...NICE! 1906.. Also wound up with a silver plated fork.. And several other odds and ends

Nope.. Just a couple miles from it.
A lot of our area is all sugary sand like that

Don't even need a detector. Now that's getting good!

That was nowhere near just lying there that was almost a foot below the surface before I broke my digger.. Same thing with the fork just didn't take photos of it

I think there is a way to report lost & broken Benchmarks.

Not sure on misplaced ones though.

the original may have already been replaced

Nice eyeball score!! Gotta love that sugar sand!!

I hunt in the low country of SC about once a year and appreciate the easy digging adn how the relics pop out!! Beats picking at hard clay like we do in most of the year in our sites!!
