I have just gained permission to my dad's friends house which was built in the early 1920s. It is a great permission located right next to a house built in the 1720s. The 1720s house has a door entrance facing towards the back yard of the permission I got (I don't have permission for the 1720s property). This leads me to believe that the area where the 1920s house sits was once part of the old 1700s house property boundaries. Also there is a large open space next to the 1920s house which is part of the yard. I was wondering if anyone knows any tips on where to search for coins and if I may possibly get older coinage than the house.

Thanks,

If you are able to find where the clothes line was you have a good chance of finding coins considering they could have easily fallen out of hanging clothes.

Gravel or rocks under the soil is usually where the drive was. I had the same situation as you, a newer house next to a 1800s house. I found a Lafayette silver dollar there. It was all one property at one time.
