    Winchester No. 10 shot brass

    Found this nice example of early shotgun brass at the stagecoach road. 1860's. 10 Gauge brass shot shell.

    I just found one also. Unfortunately, all I have is the cap but I've been able to identify it as being issued by Union Metallic Cartridge Company in 1888 prior theirs and Winchester's buyout of Remington. There's a great article about these shot shells at Shotgunworld.com. I've been digging a 100 year old farm property and found this as wellmasmsome old farm tools, tractor parts, horseshoes and a Ford center wheel hub to a Model T.
