Before and after of a cool bell mechanism

Found this recently at my favorite farm dump. It was all rusty and crusty, as the first picture shows. However, I put it in electrolysis for two days, and then took it out and cleaned it off, and it looks much better! I think it's phone related but I'm not positive. Anyone know?

It's a doorbell. The coils look to be in good shape. When it's completely dry test it for continuity with an ohm meter. You might even be able to get it to work too. You can buy the transformers in most all the big box stores if you want to try.
