is there a place on the internet

I live in New Jersey and am looking to MD at some skirmish sites or camps from the Rev war. It seems a lot of them here are protected. Looking for a place that I can metal detect. Thanks Con

I Don't know where to look on the net, Local Historical Societies may be the way to go.

Or you could type in Revolutionary war new jersey into the search engine, and start reading.

I havn't Searched this site, But you might try reading between the lines to find Mention of one near these. http://www.nps.gov/thst/battle.htm

OR get permission for the Surrounding areas of these.
They had to get here somehow. and may have faught small fights
    on the way.

    GOOD LUCK !

I agree with Jeff. Most battle sites encompass only a small area to "mark the site", the rest of the surrounding area is owned by private citizens ,who are often happy to let you hunt. Good Luck and lets see some of those finds!
I go a great distance, while some are considering whether they will start today or tomorrow

I would assume also that the battle gounds are protected but if you did some research and found the camp sites of the troops that would yeild some good finds. Just a thought
