The grip is ivory and the edge is still really sharp as well as back side of double edge. The museum said its a Rev.war saber and say conflict D guard is bent saber back edge and edge has contact marks. There's one maker stamp on D guard of 2 letters. Can this Saber be the date period and maybe maker mark id'd I bought this off of Lego with 3 other relics

Thank you bought 4 pieces a brown Bess bayonet a 1889 US DRESS sword and a 1860 French bayonet signed on spine,And this Saber for 350.00 total bought them off of website LETGO I'm still in shock kinda then wanted a thousand for 6 pieces so offered for the best ones. The maker mark on the knuckle guard could be upside down so its throwing me off.I hope they were correct for the Period of Revolutionary War did cut myself handling the Saber still sharp.

Its a light cavalry sabre, its curved. It also shouldnt be sharp as generally they were not sharpened, they didnt need to be.It required a lot of work and the edge would just be ruined withdrawing it from the scabbard. The cavalry men would thus spend a majority of their time sharpening it.
