Here's a plate I found today in west central Mississippi. I posted it up on "What Is It" and was told that it MIGHT be a Revolutionary War plate?? Can anyone help me with this? It measures 2 inches x 1.5 inches and has a soldered back. plate01.JPG plate02.JPG

Thanks...I sent pictures to a friend in Charleston, SC who knows Revolutionary Periods accoutrements and I'm hoping he can help too.

Looks like it's going to be a militia plate..19th century. Probably just prior to civil war. I guess the attachment hook was field soldered and it came off which is why it was lost.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm not convinced it's a plate. The plain Rev. War ones I have seen have clipped corners. This seems to have rounded or more square corners. Just my opinion.

Thanks for your comment.
I'm no expert but I had another relic tell me the same thing, that's why I don't think it's revolutionary war.
