I have these Schist specimens that have these rainbow colored crystals in them and I was wondering if there is something I can soak them in that will dissolve the Schist and leave the crystals and minerals unharmed.
I can use a 5 gallon bucket to submerse it in.
Any ideas?

In AR & OK we use 'oxcilic acid' to remove the yellow stains from Quartz crystals.
Use water almost boiling, in a plastic bucket, stir in the acid, place rocks in mixture for about 24 hrs, rinse with
cold water.
