Re: Fire Agate
Nice!
I tumbled my agates for about three weeks..then today I made them smaller and put them back into the first (rough) stage of tumbling, again. I decided I wanted smaller stones that I might place in silver settings some day. I am presently collecting and hoarding quality rough and semi polished for later use.
Keep up with the photos!

Re: Fire Agate
campingman13,
Show us the fine specimens you've collected, please. Show me what 'good' fire agate looks like.
Perhaps you're judging based on the pictures, or did you order some from DanB? If it's based on the pictures that DanB is working with, did you think perhaps he sells the better stuff and works with the stuff left over?

Hey Budd, sorry to say but.. None of these are fire agates from what I can see on the pics.
Here is an example of a fire agate.. Before I cabbed it.
Not good quality by any means though.

Ever seen disdero agate? Amazing stuff.
Geologists are gneiss, tuff, and a little wacke.
