    Gem/geode hunting

    Is there any place near the San Fernando Valley....less than 1-hour drive to find an area to go rock hunting? Even a pay to dig place is cool. Something close enough to get away for the day and still make it back in the evening. Thanks

    Dear VO3434;
    I need to kick the amethyst geodes out of my way in order to be able to swing a coil.

    I heard of a place down in Ventura Co called jade beach. It's a little hike but some nice jade
    comes out of it.
