    Diamond prices?

Whats with the prices they go for on *bay? Stupid cheap for what I was expecting. Is there a better place to sell if you find a couple?

IDK but my jeweler said don't sell diamonds now as the prices go down in a recession. Hold onto them!

Prices are still high, they are kept high in an artificial manner, so no worries about that.

Depending on what condition, quality, size etc you find Rapaport might be something to look into - if nothing else they might now whom to contact.

    Re: Diamond prices?

The grading system for diamonds is quite complex when compared to items like coins.

You could have a large stone with bad color or cut that could be worth way less than a stone half its size with a better color and cut. It can be pretty confusing.

If you have a really big rock, let a jeweler YOU TRUST take a look at the stone first, then see if he recommends having it certified. After the stone has been certified you will then be able to track the market price on it. Just an idea.
