    Magnetic Rocks?

    I found these rocks by Lake Cherokee, NC. They are attracted by magnets. The rocks are a little wet.

    Magnetite is quite likely.
    Geologists are gneiss, tuff, and a little wacke.

    It almost looks like these rocks have rust on them. How would I check these to see if they are meteorites?

    You have Hematite, which is a common meteorwrong.

    Hematite isn't magnetic.
