I think jasper is really hard. Wish I knew more about rocks. Mostly what I know is that 1. they are good for throwing at a dog, 2. good for dragging home for the rock wall or rock garden, 3. good for finding gold if you know where to look.

I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

    Re: Very Interesting?

On the serious side, I dont know much about rocks. Although it has somewhat of an axe shape, I doubt its manmade. I hope somebody can identify it for you. I dont see anything interesting about it. Is it an unusual rock for your area? Keep looking dont give up.

    Re: Very Interesting?

It looks like so many other river rocks I have seen in many of the streams that run through rocky soil. A unique shape perhaps? but I have seen many over the yeqrs. I use to pick them up if they wwere interesting looking and put them in my fish aquarium. And kyes my first post was meant as tongue in cheek as they say. When you get to know me better you will know it was meant in jest. Monty

If it scratched easily with i.e. a knife that rules out Jasper.

    Re: Very Interesting?

I used to pick up rocks different sizes and/or shapes and put them in the plant garden.
