Are Geodes worth anything?
I live in East central Illinois and occasionally when im artifact hunting in plowed fields i come across Geodes. Average size golf ball to grapefruit size. Are they worth any money? Do i crack them open or leave them alone? Please reply. Thanks

Re: Are Geodes worth anything?
depending on how heavy they are(meaning they are hollow if lighter then say the same sized rock)
they can be cut in half with a tile wet saw
they can be cool collectable but not worth loads of money
couple bucks each depending on its rarity/type

Of course at their prices, no wonder the small ones are temporarily sold out.

Are they worth anything? Ask any kid that needs something to bring to show-and-tell.
Right now I am, but before I was even more...or less.
