well it started out the size of 4" x 2" lol alot of errors I made till this is what was left but I am happy with it. Mica is really not that easy for me to work with but I am learning.

Mica is never easy to work. Way to soft. I also thought it doesn't look right for mica though.
Would love to see some rough!

I have the left over of it. Major chopped up tho. Will post a picture tomorrow after the sun comes up. I have 3 different kinds. This one some green and the really flaky kind. This was the only one that would make it through my toture lol.

I didn't pat attention to the red in it. Thought it was red mica till someone told me what they were. Here I had hacked away at it with my saw and grinder lol.

I will have to go back and get some more and take better time with it. I plan on trying to do something with the green I have. I think it would make a nice cab.

Could even be granite? Looks wrong for mica schist which will usually be what hosts garnets.

Good thing I didn't pay for it then if it is not mica. It was give to me by a guy who runs a local mine. Where he got it from he couldn't say because the location could not be made public lol. I thought that was odd but hey maybe trespassing or something to get it. He gave it to me along with many others mostly the flaky kind and some green. After searching on my clubs site I think I may have found it. Quartz/feldspar matrix. I may be wrong which I notice I am alot lol.
