They certainly look to be of volcanic origin.

Could be obsidian, if it reacts to a metal detector? HH Boris

I have some big specimens of obsidian and they do not look like the pieces I have they do not flake off like obsidian does. I just took a detector to it and it rings up as iron but is not magnetic.

Id call it a dusty rock lol. IDK
