I've got some desert jasper that's pitted. You can google image search something like "pitted rough jasper or desert jasper etc."

here's a piece i have that has some similar attributes to yours..

Agate is translucent, Jasper is not. That's how you separate them.

Yes it does.. From the pics anyway.. But I'm fairly confident you're right..

Jasper and agate are essentially one in the same. Both are microcrystalline quartz. To have the characteristics of agate and jasper in the same rock is very common. If you have any questions on this matter or other mineral questions don't hesitate to ask. Good luck and happy hunting.
