Rock from southern Utah

Found this in a canyon that leads to a urainium mine called the "Tony M" just north of Ticaboo Utah. The area is a rockhound paradise and I've seen folks walking looking at the ground and digging a few times in the dry washes and small canyons for rocks when I got down that way. I haven't been down that way in a couple of years now because the mine shut down.

If any of you collectors are interested in visiting the area. The best time in my opinion is the late fall and early winter. You'll find plenty of low rate motel rooms in the surrounding area and the climate is just beautiful.

Now for the rock... I think it is Dino Bone, but not 100% sure. It is a hard silica type stone.

I've got one for you.
This material was found by me in south central Florida but was obviously transported in from the north somewhere.
I have artifacts and raw material from the site made of it but have not made a positive ID. Of the material.
I have my ideas and it takes me to a source in north Georgia.. but I will hold that thought since I'm not very familiar with this material being from Florida.
First... the artifact.. a ground and polished celt and pieces of others.

I believe Dustedyou is trying to direct people to the Hard rock mining forum, a part of this site in the Prospecting forums. The link in the first post will direct you there. Unless Dustedyou intends to duplicate that long running part of the forum here. ???:tongue3:
However I'm sure there are others like Brian who'll entertain your questionable rocks.

Space turd ???? Rock ????? Crazy

Hi guys and gals. My buddy found this rock while we were prospecting for gold in northern Missouri. At a creek loaded with glacial till. Some of the rounded granite boulders were as big as large dog house. The rock is about 12“ x 9“ and Weighs image.jpg 48 pounds. It is magnetic. It has a quarter inch crust on the outside . If anybody out there knows what this is’ 811D137E-8027-4C30-B202-971A22E0BF67.jpeg 87EFCAB4-2032-493B-8C85-A96DA078C6FE.jpeg A0B3536A-04A3-4E9E-946C-210BB884932C.jpeg EA79F140-A5E7-441D-920C-A37D0E31B942.jpeg 5E9B7BE0-ACF6-4DE0-A7C5-0C4E103E7894.jpg D74D9B6E-8E81-423B-8047-42264DCF2AFE.jpeg image.jpg it would be very well appreciated thank you very much.

So idk if I’m in the right place or not forgive me if I’m not but I do have a lot of rocks that I would like to know for certain what they may be I’m gonna start out small with what I think may be quartz but I really don’t know they were found mostly on a dirt road around miller baker and early county area in south west Georgia. Also I forgot to note I did try knapping this rock and it was extremely difficult but I am a beginner it had something like a limestone cortex surrounding it.
